What is the LetoGlow NICU Pathway™?
Your baby's NICU journey can feel overwhelming, especially when every day brings new words, new equipment and new milestones. The LetoGlow NICU Pathway™ was created to give parents clarity, confidence and comfort by breaking the journey into six gentle stages.
Each stage reflects what many babies go through as they grow stronger: from the earliest days of stabilisation, through feeding progress, to the moment it is time to go home together.
Why we created the Pathway
The NICU has its own language (CPAP, feeding tubes, humidicribs, discharge checks) and it can leave families feeling lost or anxious. We wanted to explain it in a way parents can actually follow.
We designed the NICU Pathway™ to be:
- Clear: easy to understand
- Gentle: emotionally supportive
- Structured: follows the usual order of NICU progress
- Reassuring: celebrates every small win
How it works
The Pathway arranges NICU time into six stages:
- Stabilisation
- Strengthening
- Growing
- Advanced growth & feeding
- Preparation for home
- Home
Each stage describes what babies often need at that point, the milestones many are working towards, what usually comes next, and what you can expect as a parent.
Progress is not always a straight line. Many babies move back a stage for a while. That is a common part of NICU time, not a step backwards for you.
The Pathway is general information, not an assessment of your baby. Your care team knows your baby best.
